UNITED NATIONS OF DEVELOPMENT

PROGRAMME

The United Nations Development Programme established in 1965 advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. It provides expert advice, training, and grants support to developing countries, with increasing emphasis on assistance to the least developed countries. It mainly focuses on helping countries build and share solutions in three areas, sustainable development, democratic governance and peace building and climate and disaster resilience. It’s goal is not only to bring effective and equitable delivery of service to citizens, including the poor, indigenous and local communities, but also integrate issues of climate, disaster risk and energy at the country level, ensuring that development remains risk-informed and sustainable. Lastly, strengthen capabilities and opportunities to reduce poverty and marginalization.
